Dean Ambrose, during his appearance on the Talk is Jericho podcast, discussed his brief online feud with Mick Foley that occurred while he was an FCW talent. Ambrose said that the storyline, which started via various brief encounters outside of WWE events, was scrapped because Foley couldn’t get cleared medically to compete.

“It was going to be a real thing,” said Ambrose. “That was the start of it. It was my idea, something that I pitched. I’m of the generation who watched Mick Foley fall off stuff, and on the indies people are falling off ladders and getting hurt. I did a lot of hardcore stuff before I got here [the WWE]…The dirt sheets starting biting on it. I went up to [Foley] while he was signing autographs, people were filming on their phones and had no idea who I was.”

He added that in terms of it never reaching fruition, “I was pretty bummed, I thought that was the one perfect moment. But it gave me buzz.”

Mick Foley: 'My Show Should Be On The WWE Network!'

In an interview with AL.com, Mick Foley said that he thinks his one-man comedy show would be perfect for the WWE Network. Here are highlights:

On his one-man show: "Most people are showing up out of blind faith and they have no idea what to expect. I hope in a few years word gets around and maybe WWE will show up with their cameras and realize it's a perfect fit for their network. Then the fan base will have a chance to see it and therefore arrive with high expectations. Until then, part of the fun of the show is to be better than people are expecting."

On if other wrestlers could be good on stage: "Oh sure, a lot of guys. First of all, every wrestler has unique stories. But the key between doing a Q/A and actually putting on a show is the work. At that point the number cuts dramatically of the people who are willing to show up at open mics, feel terrible about themselves, worse emotionally than any other time in their lives, and then get up there and do it again. There is a market for Q/A. But I love that the show sinks or swims based on whether or not I'm good. There's no other match to go on if I'm having an off night. You know, I like the pressure and the adventure of being able to take people on a nice, enjoyable ride when I'm on stage."

On his funniest interactions with fans: "You know, they're more touching than funny. I just got this beautiful Christmas card from the mother of a special needs' child and I'll actually put it in my photo album. It meant so much to her to have her son Johnny incorporated into the show. They tend to be more nice, touching moments and there's usually several of them a night. Of course, there are nights when you wish you could just do your show and go home to get some rest. But it's part of the reason people come and it's one of the things they enjoy most. If you're in my shoes, and your goal is to leave people with the biggest possible smile on their face, then doing the meet-and-greet afterwards makes sense."

On South Florida: "It's a great part of the country. I always have had a great following there. I remember wrestling in Fort Lauderdale on Halloween in 1990."

On his memorable match with Edge at WrestleMania: "He was a guy who needed to take a tiny step to the next level. I just happen to be the guy to help him. You try to give to others cause when I was there someone did it for me."

More On Why WWE Officials Are Upset With Mick Foley

Partial Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

UPDATE: As Greg noted earlier this morning here on eWrestlingNews.com, several top WWE executives are reportedly upset at Mick Foley. This is due to the blogs and tweets he made in regards to the booking of Daniel Bryan around the Royal Rumble. Foley was very critical of the company during that time about how they were booking Daniel Bryan and not listening to the fans.

They're likely not happy about his latest blog (see below), where he explains not signing a new legends deal because he was disappointed with the payoffs on the past two videogames.

ORIGINAL: Mick Foley posted the following blog on his Facebook page earlier this evening:

LEGENDS DEAL

"To deal..or not to deal - that is the question. As some of you may have heard, at this point, I am opting not to sign my Legends Marketing Deal, which gives ?#?WWE? the right to market my likeness on video games and action figures. I'll be writing in more detail about this in the next week or so, but it would be fair to say that, despite strong sales, I have found the payoffs for the past two video games to be extremely weak - in the 25% range of what most talent was expecting.

Last year, the explanation had something to do with the video game company going bankrupt - a real shame for me, since I was heavily featured as three characters from the "Attitude" era, complete with voice work. I haven't heard this year's explanation yet, but, personally. I think the #WWE just wants to see if the talent will accept a far lower percentage than had previously been given. If so, it would proably be a good business move for #WWE, since very few current wrestlers are going to jeapordize their standing with the company by offering resistance - and most legends will probably come to feel like anything they get from merchandise is better than nothing.

As for me: until I hear a valid reason, I'm opting out.

Mick Foley Blogs - RAW, Daniel Bryan/WWE, Under...

The following are highlights of a new blog on the official Facebook page of WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley:

On Monday's RAW and Undertaker's return: "About that RAW prediction? That "greatest RAW of the year" prediction? Well, it turns out I was wrong about that. As cool as it was to see The Undertaker, nonetheless, I was completely wrong."

"Maybe it will all come together in the end. We'll see. I'll end this piece with some words from my post earlier today - a paragraph which apparently didn't make much of a difference in the course of events."

On WWE's usage of Daniel Bryan: "But I think WWE needs to accept (PLEASE listen to me here, any WWE writer, exec, or power in charge) that the ability to turn the tide hinges on finding a way to make Daniel Bryan part of that main event. For me, personally, as a wrestler, a good feud was just as important as a title shot. But the WWE Universe has been on a personal journey with Daniel Bryan, and from the 1,000's of messages I've read, not a single member of that Universe will feel that their journey is complete without Daniel getting a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania. PLEASE forget about the idea of Daniel Bryan vs Triple H, or Daniel Bryan vs Kane at Mania. They are both potentially great match-ups at a later time - but not for Mania. There are times when you really do need to give the people what they want...and this is one of them."
