Pro Wrestling Predictions For 2015

The rock1 crop exact Birthdate: 05/02/1972 (age 42) Height: 6'5" Weight: 260 Ib Johnson was a college football player for the U...

As 2014 comes to a close, let's predict on what the 2015 holds in the WWE, TNA, Ring of Honor and other promotions.

The Rock will cost Brock Lesnar the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match against John Cena at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view only for Seth Rollins to cash in his MITB briefcase to defeat Cena for the title.

Even though he has a busy film career which includes the upcoming movies Furious 7 and San Andreas, The Rock will no doubt be one of the top attractions heading into WrestleMania 31 which includes the likelihood of The Rock versus Brock Lesnar match. Even though the 30-man Royal Rumble match usually closes out the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, the 2015 edition could very well see Cena versus Lesnar closing out the pay-per-view simply because I see The Rock costing Lesnar the match against Cena leading up to Rock-Lesnar at WrestleMania 31. But I also expect The Authority to attack Cena, allowing Seth Rollins to cash in his MITB briefcase to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Cesaro will headline the "WWE Future Endeavored" Class of 2015.

2014 was the year that saw many WWE Superstars including CM Punk, Alberto Del Rio, Josh Mathews, Brodus Clay, JTG, Drew McIntyre, and many others getting released and 2015 in my opinion is no exception. Look for Cesaro, Justin Gabriel, Fandango, Curtis Axel, David Otunga, Zack Ryder, Tamina Snuka, and several others to get released in the coming months.

Goldust will leave the WWE in 2015, without feuding with Cody Rhodes.

Speaking of 2015 WWE departures, another person that I could see leaving the WWE is Goldust, but I don't see him facing Cody Rhodes in a match. Vince McMahon is said to be very happy with the Stardust gimmick while he feels that Cody Rhodes got very outdated as a performer. Instead, expect a "passing the torch" situation for the Rhodes Brothers.

Adrian Neville will flop on the main roster while Sami Zayn, Finn Balor and Hideo Itami remain on the NXT roster.

NXT talent Adrian Neville has been rumored to debut on the main roster, but like Adam Rose, Bo Dallas, Emma, and Xavier Woods before him, expect Neville to be a major disappointment while I expect the likes of Zayn, Itami, and Balor to be stuck in NXT for the time being.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage will heading the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame class.

After years of animosity between Vince McMahon and Randy Savage, look for The Macho Man to finally headline the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame class.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated will cease publication.

Let's face it, wrestling magazines (along with many other magazines) have been victims of print decline and internet websites. As a result, I expect Pro Wrestling Illustrated to publish its last issue sometime in 2015.

TNA will have a banner year.

Earlier this year, things were looking rather dismal for TNA Wrestling regarding its uncertain future. Now that it has a new TV home (Destination America), look for TNA to serious give WWE a run for the money with fresh storylines, better matches, and more focus on in-ring action than promos.

Global Force Wrestling will be a success.

Even though it hasn't debuted yet, I expect Global Force Wrestling to seriously challenge the WWE, TNA, and Ring of Honor thanks in large part to Jeff Jarrett.

Ring of Honor will add a women's division.

Just like WCW to some extent, Ring of Honor wrestling hasn't had a women's wrestling division. Look for that to change though, as I expect several Shimmer Athletes joining the company to create the Women of Honor to compete with the WWE Divas and the TNA Knockouts.

WWE Battleground 2014 PPV Predictions

WWE Battleground is a stacked card if you wanted to sum it up in a short fashion. All the matches on the card have a meaning and the potential to be a really good match at the end of the day. Will Brock Lesnar be plan C? Who will be the next Intercontinental Champion? Can the Wyatts beat out the Usos for the tag titles? So many questions to be answered. Down below, I like to think that I have answered those questions.

2 Out Of 3 Falls Tag Team Title Match: The Usos © Vs. The Wyatt Family

Even though they have worked against each other several times in the past month or so, The Usos  Vs. The Wyatt Family is still an A+ feud. They tore the house down at Money in the Bank and with the stipulation and with some time given, these two teams will do it again. It seems the time and place for the Wyatts to win the title, but where do they go from here? A rematch with the Usos at Summerslam? Other than these two teams, WWE does not have another tag team that really stands out as contenders. If the Wyatts lose here, it will not hurt them, but will give them an excuse to go after the Usos with more drive than they did before. Usos win 2-1 falls.

Prediction: The Usos Retain!

Divas Title Match: AJ Lee © Vs. Paige

Paige wins the title on her first night on the main roster and AJ wins the title back from her on her first night back. This is the defining point in this program. If these girls get seven or so minutes, they can put on what a Divas match should be. Paige is slowly turning heel while keeping the questionable Babyface role. Expect Paige to dominate the match, be so close to victory, but only to have AJ win out of nowhere to retain the title. You then have Paige turn full heel with a post match beatdown.

Prediction: AJ Lee Retains!

WWE Intercontinental Championship Battle Royal: Fandango, Sheamus, Cesaro, Damien Sandow, The Great Khali, Ryback, Curtis Axel, Bo Dallas, Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler, Rob Van Dam, Big E, Alberto Del Rio

There are lots of WWE Superstars in this match and that leads to a ton of ways that this match can. This match does a lot of good for alot of WWE Superstars for many reasons. Getting on the PPV, but more importantly with all of these stars, they can tell stories in his match that leads to further programs.

As far as the winner of the match goes, the two Superstars stand out in my opinion. Reigning, defending, U.S Champion, Sheamus and Cesaro.

Sheamus is the current U.S Champion and entering the battle royal to be the potential IC Champion will speak more speculation that WWE is unifying the IC and U.S title.  He has noted on Twitter that he would like to do that and is a strong possibility if he walks out with both titles.

Cesaro, “the King of Swing” was on a hot streak, but in recent weeks he has fizzled out. With a recent losing streak, Paul Heyman not on this past Monday’s Raw and Brock Lesnar returning soon, could this lead to a Cesaro face turn?

Prediction: Cesaro grabs the gold!

Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt

Chris Jericho has made his grand return to the WWE, but now meets the rising star Bray Wyatt. Here is the great thing about Chris Jericho, he puts the younger talent over. Leading into his feud with John Cena, Bray Wyatt was on fire, but with Cena not putting him over, it slowed Wyatt’s momentum down. I expect this feud to continue onto Summerslam and if that is the plan, Chris Jericho needs a win to continue this story. Bray will get the final laugh in this feud, but Chris Jericho needs it more on Sunday. Chris Jericho wins the battle, but will not win the war.

Prediction: Jericho

Dean Ambrose Vs. Seth Rollins

One of the most anticipated matches heading into Battleground. With the program of the story being carried by these two, the expectations are higher than any other match on the card. Will Dean Ambrose get his revenge on former best friend Seth Rollins?  Or Will Rollins find a way to victory? Those are two very important questions. These  two have wrestled for the past month at live events and according to reports tore the house down. Hopefully, that is the case come Sunday. With the angle on Raw with Rollins, Kane and Orton taking Ambrose out backstage, look for Rollins to take full advantage of that attack. Rollins has a chance of getting away with a cheap win and thus Ambrose having an excuse of being hurt seven days prior to their...

Slammiversary XII: Preview & Predictions

Hey fans, Dan K here, previously DK Wrestling Savior from the old EWN, with a quick preview and prediction piece on the upcoming TNA PPV, Slammiversary. Now the build up over the last three or four weeks hasn't been all that great. Some of the storylines were kind of weak and others were rushed. But there are a few longer term build ups that have stayed consistent and will all come to a head this Sunday.

James Storm vs Mr. Anderson

I'll be honest, when I first saw the makings of this feud, it was when James Storm ended up inadvertently assisting Gunner in his match with Anderson. I thought they were gonna go in a different direction and maybe have Storm dragging Gunner to the dark side after they're feud of brutal matches. Instead, Anderson faked drunk in a bar and beat up Storm. Then made fun of Storm and took a beating. And thrown in between, tag teamed with Gunner against the Bro Mans and no Storm in sight. A weak build to an even weaker feud and James Storm continues his losing ways.

Result:  Mr. Anderson via The Mic Check.

Willow w/ Abyss  vs  Magnus w. Bram

I’m not exactly sure what TNA’s deficiency is when it comes to surprises, but Abyss’ return to side with Jeff Hardy would’ve had a much greater effect if it was saved for Sunday. Either way, Willow and Magnus/Bram rolls on. Magnus has found his true self and while I enjoy Willow and the work of Jeff Hardy, I can’t see why Magnus wouldn’t pull this one off.

Result:  Magnus off of a distraction from Bram and probably a cheap shot with a crowbar.

Samoa Joe  vs  Bobby Lashley

This one will be a battle of heavyweights. In the past few weeks, MVP has aligned himself with Kenny King and Lashley to form his evil boss faction. Lashley is difficult to see as a heel, at least for me. He always got a great reaction. Now he’s pretty much a henchman. He will battle the returning Samoa Joe, who if it weren’t for the weak crowd at the Impact tapings 2 weeks ago, would’ve blown the roof off the Impact Zone with a crowd like this past Thursday. With his return, following his run in the main event picture while MVP was still a face, I can’t see Joe losing here.

Result:  Joe after botched interference from Kenny King or MVP.

Austin Aries vs Kenny King

Much like Joe vs Lashley, there was very little direct build to this match. However, the storyline stays consistent and since the battle against MVP ensues, this match makes sense. This should also steal the show and be a phenomenal display of talent. This is a hard one pick. I can’t see MVP’s group going winless so I’m going with Kenny King to win but this should be a great match.

Result:  Kenny King after interference from either MVP or Lashley

X Division Title Ladder Match

When one talks about a lack of build, this falls way outside of that realm. This one literally had no build whatsoever. We haven’t even seen Senada in two weeks. The lack of a tag team division in TNA has put the Wolves into this match along with every other little guy on the roster, minus Rockstar Spudd. I’d love to think there will be a lot of decent high spots here but there’s a lot of matches on the card so these great performers aren’t going to have a whole lot of time. I can’t see any real suprises here. The only thing is, Destination X is coming up real soon so if Senada is not the one to try and cash in, who takes his place out of the participants? Manik? Tigre Uno? Crazy Steve? The Wolves?

Result:  Senada retains his X Division Title

Knockouts Title Match: Angelina Love  vs  Gail Kim

The Beautiful People have made so many enemies since getting back together. Now, Angelina Love’s title reign is finally in real jeopardy. Gail is the best women’s wrestler working today. But the wildcard here is Velvet who has been instrumental in keeping that title on Angelina. Maybe this match will have a different referee since Stiffler never seems to be looking when Velvet sprays Love’s opponents in the face. That’s not likely though.

Result:  Angelina Love retains the Women’s Title after Velvet sprays Gail.

Texas Death Match:  Bully Ray   vs  EC3

Bully Ray has a hit list…er…a tables list rather. EC3 is on that list as he works his way smashing people through tables all the way until he can actually put Dixie through one. EC3 is undefeated in singles matches. He hasn’t been booked very strong but he is a legit threat. There seems to be a lot of interference in my predictions so I’m going to take a...

WWE Extreme Rules Predictions & In-Depth Analysis

WWE Extreme Rules takes place this Sunday night, May 4, 2014 at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. WWE will put forth their first pay-per-view efforts since their big WrestleMania XXX event last month.

Going into this Sunday's show, the focus has been primarily on three key matches -- Evolution vs. The Shield, John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt in a steel cage and Daniel Bryan defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against masked Kane.

Despite the fact that this is Daniel Bryan's first title defense since capturing the gold on the grandest stage of them all and finally receiving his long-awaited "moment" in the spotlight, his match feels like the third most important on the show. That's unfortunate, and while many point to the passing of Bryan's father as a reason why WWE was unable to capitalize on his momentum as champion as much as they would have liked, it seemed clear to me straight out of the gate that Bryan was at best going to be second-fiddle to the Evolution-Shield program. I actually wrote an editorial on that topic a few weeks ago.

Either way, it's a decent lineup, one that has some comedy sprinkled in, some gimmick matches and a solid main event, so it should be a good show from top-to-bottom on Sunday night. Having said that, let's take a look at my predictions for the show.

WeeLC Match
- El Torito vs. Hornswoggle

Boone's Breakdown: You can obviously expect a step-ladder, mini-chairs and mini-tables in this one. We've reported that veteran midget wrestler Short Sleeve Sampson has been booked by WWE and will likely serve as the guest referee in this one. I've also heard that there's a possibility that some other midgets (or little people, whatever) have been contacted and will be used in this match as well. This is what it is, which is WWE doing bad comedy, but in all actuality, the El Torito-Hornswoggle matches and segments -- in my opinion -- have actually been pretty entertaining. Since it doesn't really matter who goes over in this one, unless WWE is continuing the program, you would expect that the babyface goes over.

Boone's Prediction: El Torito

Handicap Match
- Alexander Rusev vs. R-Truth & Xavier Woods

Boone's Breakdown: This really should be a two-minute squash at best, however WWE actually booked Rusev to sell more than I think he should be doing at this point considering his gimmick. On the "go-home" edition of SmackDown, WWE actually had Rusev go back out and do his match over again, so that's not a good sign. Generally when WWE loses confidence in a guy, no matter how much he has been pushed, they tend to slam on the brakes. We'll find out Sunday, depending on how the match plays out, if that is the case with the "Bulgarian Brute." Obviously he's still going over, but depending on how much selling he does, how strong his win is put over, etc., we'll see if they intend to continue on with him being an unstoppable monster.

Boone's Prediction: Alexander Rusev

WWE Divas Championship
- Paige (c) vs. Tamina Snuka

Boone's Breakdown: This was originally slated to be a Divas Championship rematch between Paige and AJ Lee, but after Lee requested some time off, her bodyguard Tamina Snuka was moved into the picture. It seems that WWE is booking Paige in a way where she isn't quite on the level of the current WWE Divas, but somehow finds a way to pull out a victory regardless. Considering the fact that Tamina is the big girl of the Divas division, one would expect that Paige will be doing a lot of selling in this one, but ultimately I expect her to get her hand raised by the end of the night. There's always the possibility that AJ Lee returns in this one, but I don't personally see that happening.

Boone's Prediction: Paige

Triple-Threat Match
- Rob Van Dam vs. Cesaro vs. Jack Swagger

Boone's Breakdown: I'm actually surprised that WWE didn't go with a straight Cesaro vs. Swagger match here, which leads me to believe that there will be a lot of Paul Heyman and Zeb Colter involvement, leading to a Van Dam victory. This would allow Cesaro and Swagger to break off into their angle, leading up to the inevitable one-on-one showdown between the former Real American teammates. This should be a damn good match, by the way.

Boone's Prediction: Rob Van Dam

WWE Intercontinental Championship
- Big E. (c) vs. Bad News Barrett

Boone's Breakdown: I've got some bad news -- for Big E. at least, which is that I think we have ourselves a new WWE Intercontinental Champion after Sunday night. Anything short of that would be kind of retarded, as Barrett has a ton of momentum right now, and a loss here wouldn't be doing him any favors. Big E. has...

WWE Elimination Chamber PPV Predictions

Pre-Show Kick Off Match: Cody Rhodes & Goldust vs. Ryback & Curtis AxelThis is a real thrown together match from both teams. There is not background story being told her and no real reason to care. The Rhode Brothers need a win desperately and they should get it here. Prediction: Cody Rhodes & GoldustDarren Young vs. Titus O'NeilThe break up has been coming and if Titus O'Neil ever had a real chance of getting over as a single’s competitor it is now. He needs a strong sho...
