Birthdate: 05/02/1972 (age 42) Height: 6'5" Weight: 260 Ib Johnson was a college football player for the U... As 2014 comes to a close, let's predict on what the 2015 holds in the WWE, TNA, Ring of Honor and other promotions.
The Rock will cost Brock Lesnar the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match against John Cena at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view only for Seth Rollins to cash in his MITB briefcase to defeat Cena for the title.
Even though he has a busy film career which includes the upcoming movies Furious 7 and San Andreas, The Rock will no doubt be one of the top attractions heading into WrestleMania 31 which includes the likelihood of The Rock versus Brock Lesnar match. Even though the 30-man Royal Rumble match usually closes out the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, the 2015 edition could very well see Cena versus Lesnar closing out the pay-per-view simply because I see The Rock costing Lesnar the match against Cena leading up to Rock-Lesnar at WrestleMania 31. But I also expect The Authority to attack Cena, allowing Seth Rollins to cash in his MITB briefcase to become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Cesaro will headline the "WWE Future Endeavored" Class of 2015.
2014 was the year that saw many WWE Superstars including CM Punk, Alberto Del Rio, Josh Mathews, Brodus Clay, JTG, Drew McIntyre, and many others getting released and 2015 in my opinion is no exception. Look for Cesaro, Justin Gabriel, Fandango, Curtis Axel, David Otunga, Zack Ryder, Tamina Snuka, and several others to get released in the coming months.
Goldust will leave the WWE in 2015, without feuding with Cody Rhodes.
Speaking of 2015 WWE departures, another person that I could see leaving the WWE is Goldust, but I don't see him facing Cody Rhodes in a match. Vince McMahon is said to be very happy with the Stardust gimmick while he feels that Cody Rhodes got very outdated as a performer. Instead, expect a "passing the torch" situation for the Rhodes Brothers.
Adrian Neville will flop on the main roster while Sami Zayn, Finn Balor and Hideo Itami remain on the NXT roster.
NXT talent Adrian Neville has been rumored to debut on the main roster, but like Adam Rose, Bo Dallas, Emma, and Xavier Woods before him, expect Neville to be a major disappointment while I expect the likes of Zayn, Itami, and Balor to be stuck in NXT for the time being.
"Macho Man" Randy Savage will heading the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame class.
After years of animosity between Vince McMahon and Randy Savage, look for The Macho Man to finally headline the 2015 WWE Hall of Fame class.
Pro Wrestling Illustrated will cease publication.
Let's face it, wrestling magazines (along with many other magazines) have been victims of print decline and internet websites. As a result, I expect Pro Wrestling Illustrated to publish its last issue sometime in 2015.
TNA will have a banner year.
Earlier this year, things were looking rather dismal for TNA Wrestling regarding its uncertain future. Now that it has a new TV home (Destination America), look for TNA to serious give WWE a run for the money with fresh storylines, better matches, and more focus on in-ring action than promos.
Global Force Wrestling will be a success.
Even though it hasn't debuted yet, I expect Global Force Wrestling to seriously challenge the WWE, TNA, and Ring of Honor thanks in large part to Jeff Jarrett.
Ring of Honor will add a women's division.
Just like WCW to some extent, Ring of Honor wrestling hasn't had a women's wrestling division. Look for that to change though, as I expect several Shimmer Athletes joining the company to create the Women of Honor to compete with the WWE Divas and the TNA Knockouts.
