Top Ten List Of Brothers In Pro Wrestling History (Part 1)

If you look back through the history of professional wrestling, there have been a lot of successful siblings that have on their own -- or as a tag-team -- achieved great success. Today, we are going to focus specifically on brothers. There have been a lot of gimmick brothers, meaning a pairing that are referred to as brothers on television, but in real life have no relation. The focus of this list will be legitimate brother relatives, with an emphasis on their combined historical significance.

Without any further ado, let's jump into part one of our two-part look at the top ten brother-combos in pro wrestling history ...

Honorable Mention

12. Windham "Bray Wyatt" Rotunda & Taylor "Bo Dallas" Rotunda

It's hard to argue that these two belong on the list considering the fact that Bo Dallas hasn't even debuted yet (technically, I know he had a short-lived run a few years ago, but I'm not counting that). Certainly Bray Wyatt has done enough that if Bo Dallas achieves any level of success on the main roster, these two would be deserving of a much higher place on this kind of list in the future.

Bo Dallas will make his return to the main roster in the near future, and while many are predicting that he's going to struggle to get over with the current character he is using, in the world of pro wrestling, you can never really guess what's going to get over and what isn't.

11. Jonathan Fatu & Joshua Fatu

The Usos could very well deserve a spot higher on this list in the future, but so young into their careers, I think it's only fair to see how far they go before going one way or the other with these two. They certainly belong in the discussion, and whether they go the "Five Minute Warning" or "Headshrinker" route where they make a splash and disappear, or the way of The Wild Samoans or Rikishi and Umaga route, remains to be seen.

As of right now, they are no doubt among the best tag-teams in the business today. That may not be saying a lot, but in a thin WWE tag-team division, they certainly stand out, which is definitely saying something.

10. Randy Savage & Lanny Poffo

Many may argue this brother combo being included on this list, but in my opinion, Randy Savage achieved so much success on his own, that the mere fact that his brother actually made it to "the show," is enough for them to just edge out a couple of modern-day brother combos to earn a spot at the bottom of this list.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage is one of the best known characters in wrestling history, being on a recognizable level of only a handful of guys such as Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, The Rock and a few others. He held multiple World Championships in multiple promotions, and even garnered a decent amount of mainstream success as he was involved in the Spiderman movies and was well-known as the face of the Slim Jim beef snack commercials.

"Leapin'" Lanny Poffo was never really a star in pro wrestling, although he had a decent little run with the "Leapin'" moniker, and achieved infamous status as the annoying, cocky "The Genius" character in WWE in the 1980s. Because of that fact, combined with Savage's ridiculous level of success, I feel this brother duo deserves a spot on the list.

9. Dustin "Goldust" Rhodes & Cody Rhodes

Depending on where Cody Rhodes career ends up, this brother combo could end up higher on future sibling lists. As of right now, the two are among the best tag-teams in the sport, which isn't saying a whole lot, although no one can deny that as a unit, they have at least garnered some attention back onto the tag-team scene in WWE.

Goldust in particular has had a very impressive run as an individual. Growing up in the shadow of a legendary father like Dusty Rhodes, many assumed Dustin Rhodes would never achieve the fame and recognition that "The American Dream" garnered in his day. As "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes, it didn't seem like he would ever quite break through to that next level. Oddly enough, when he was given the Goldust gimmick in WWE, whether or not it was as a rib to his father, who had competed against Vince McMahon and WWE for so long, is irrelevant. Dustin made it work and to this day it is a character that many fans of the sport have fond memories of.

Cody Rhodes is still in the early stages of his career. He has had some success in various tag-teams, including the current "Brotherhood" duo with Goldust, but it will be very interesting to see if he can rise above and achieve his own individual success, such as his brother did in...
